This was a game that very quickly looked like a mismatch. Timperley took the lead very quickly and never looked back. It's very difficult to maintain composure against a team when the score is so heavily weighted in your favour. It was nice to see some of the girls working moves to score some really good goals, and as shown by the list of goal scorers below. Also great to see were goals coming from many different players.

Well done especially to Lexi and Ruby getting on the score sheet!
Both impressed at this level and are looking very much a part of this U18 squad.
To play well at U18 level is one thing - to hold your own in THIS Timperley U18 team is special!
At the other end of the pitch, Katie did a great job keeping the score down conceding 1 only!

It was nice to see Gabi supporting, despite having sustained a knee injury a few weeks ago. We wish her well and hope to see Gabi return once her knee is fixed!

To only concede 1 goal was a great start to our cup campaign, endorsing the awesome defensive play that Timperley are capable of from every player in every position!

Cup - Round 2 - 1st December 2024
MC Lax U18: 4
Timperley U18: 28
With a number of players unable to make it, Timperley were still able to field a strong side for Round 2 of the cup vs MC Lax. With our two excellent goalkeepers both available, and with the help of Lexi and Ruby from our U15 squad, we were more than ready for the challenge ahead.
Timperley took the game by the scruff of the neck, finishing Q1 with a massive 10 goals for and not a single one conceded!

Once again, Timperley found themselves facing weaker opposition, but the commitment and approach today was much improved from the first round. Credit to all of the girls for keeping the standard of play high and for taking the opportunity to practice tactics and moves. Nice to see some moves from Carys and Chloe interlinking and some real determination in ball winning in open play from Sienna.
With options in attack, and some intelligent positions taken up by Lexi and Cara, we are making positive steps to developing a deeper understanding between players and at the same time testing new ways to play.

MC Lax played with spirit and determination, which we struggled to deal with at times.
But overall it was an incredibly dominant performance by Timperley, with Franzi, Carys, Ruby and Eva controlling the draw almost all of the time.
At times, we switched our defensive line of Eva, Charlotte and Emily with our midi line of Franzi, Carys, Sienna and Ruby. It was very nice to see that we could still maintain a goal threat with our defensive players showing their attacking qualities and ball control.

The commitment was on show throughout the game, with Sienna at one point crunching literally head to head with her opposite number! This was an example of how much the girls wanted to win the ball today, with everyone putting in a good amount of effort from start to finish.
The effort from all was excellent today.
2 cup games, 2 wins - we build from here!
