Last weekend saw Timperley host over 120 youngsters between the ages of 5 and 10 for an afternoon of pop lacrosse! The Development Tournaments, organised in association with England Lacrosse, is split into Under 8s and Under 10s and gives kids who are new to the game the chance to practice their skills and play against their peers from clubs around the local area.

Sunday saw a total of 19 mixed teams enter from 9 clubs - Rochdale, Stockport, Mellor, Cheadle, Heaton Mersey, Brooklands, Wilmslow, Poynton and Timperley.

We managed to field 4 teams, two in the under 8 category and two in the under 10s. All the children had an incredible day and the experience really seems to be helping to cement an early love for the game. We are incredibly proud of them all!

Massive thanks to the coaches, volunteers and other adults who helped out and made the day a success. Roll on the next one!

If your child would like to give lacrosse a try, we run a Saturday morning drop in session from 9-10am every Saturday. Children can turn up and give it a go, with all equipment provided by the club. The first three sessions are free.
